West Brom Sign Toby Collyer from Man Utd Permanently

West Bromwich Albion have completed the permanent signing of midfielder Toby Collyer from Manchester United, with the club confirming the fee as undisclosed. The 22-year-old has put pen to paper on a four-year contract at The Hawthorns.

Collyer is no stranger to the club. He spent the first half of last season on loan at West Brom, making 12 Championship appearances before a mid-season move to Hull City, where he helped the Tigers secure promotion to the Premier League.

A Return He Wanted

Speaking to Albion’s official website, Collyer explained why he was keen to come back to The Hawthorns on a permanent basis.

“There were a few reasons why I was so keen to return,” Collyer said. “The size of the club is one of them. I also really enjoyed my time here on loan in the first half of last season.”

He also pointed to the role manager James Morrison played in bringing him back to the club.

“Another reason was the manager, James Morrison. He was really keen to have me back and that’s all you want in football,” Collyer added.

United Background

Collyer made 13 appearances for Manchester United across all competitions during the 2024-25 season. His competitive debut for the club came in a 3-0 home defeat by Liverpool in September 2024.

Ninth Signing of the Summer

The move makes Collyer West Brom’s ninth summer signing, with the club having already brought in players including Jimmy-Jay Morgan and Conor Townsend ahead of the new campaign.
